Applications
Glass tapes are used for thermal insulation on pipes and vessels to protect personnel and to minimise heat loss. They can be easily fabricated into seals and gaskets. A large range of ladder tapes is available for use as seals on boilers and oven flanges. The tapes can be used in welding applications for stress relieving, for insulation and as oven and furnace seals and linings.
The tapes may be applied easily by hand wrapping, sewing or with conventional adhesives. They can be laminated with aluminium foils, coated with graphite, vermiculite to improve abrasion and heat resistance. Waterproofing and high temperature coatings are available, also a weave lock finish can be supplied to reduce dust and 'fly' in cutting.
